Teachers Light the Way to Brighter Futures
Teacher Appreciation Week: May 5-9, 2025
Teachers illuminate paths of knowledge, guiding students toward limitless possibilities. From morning greetings and classroom discussions to after-school support and thoughtful feedback, teachers shine their light on every aspect of student growth and development. Each day, they spark curiosity, kindle creativity, and brighten the future for every student in their care.
Join us in celebrating these remarkable educators during Teacher Appreciation Week, May 5-9, 2025.

Students who are participating in Mountain Empire's dual enrollment courses, please see the message from Mrs. Nancy Townsend.

As a reminder for students and parents, when students return to school to begin the second semester at RHS, the new DCPS cell phone policy will be in effect, which limits cell phone use at school to time before and after the school day. Between 8:00 AM and school dismissal, RHS students will store their phones (turned off) in their lockers. This policy reflects Governor Youngkin's Executive Order #33, which restricts students' use of cell phones and other personal communication devices during the school day from "bell to bell". Students and parents can review the updated cell phone policy on both the RHS and DCPS websites. For further information, please contact the school or the school board office.

Please be advised of the changes below due to weather Monday, January 6, 2025: Twelve month employees will report at 9:00 AM (if this changes, a email will be sent before 8:00 AM) Tuesday, January 7, 2025: Teacher Workday Wednesday, January 8, 2025: Students will return from Christmas/Winter Break
